SNO 50 – JULY FUNDRAISER

The call for donations of artworks for our 50th exhibition fundraiser has received many generous offers. SNO 50 features works from artists who have exhibited with us over the past five years. The exhibition will culminate in a silent auction which will be finalised at 5pm, Sunday 26 July. All bids enter at $100 minimum, with no reserve. Many international, local, established and emerging artists are represented. Below are just some of the pieces received. For a catalogue of works, click here (1.6 mb PDF file).

If you are unable to attend the exhibition, bid for any of the listed items here! Just fill out the form below and click "Submit". We will notify you of your lodgment with a return email. See bottom of this page for more details on how the auction works.

High resolution images of works can be supplied upon request: info@sno.org.au

Note: bidders are advised that the catalogue of works is still in progress, and is likely to be complete by opening of SNO 50, 3pm, Saturday, 4 July.

Winning bids will have a packing and postage fee added for freighting if item cannot be collected from gallery.

AUCTION RULES NOTICE

Bids will be accepted both at the gallery and via the website up until 5pm on Sunday, 26 July, 2009. Both methods of bidding will close at 5pm (17.00hrs) Eastern time on 26 July. The dual bidding opportunity is to allow interstate and international bidders to take part.

We will update the SNO website each Sunday evening to reflect the latest, highest bid for each work, whether made online or at the gallery. Because of this, the bids shown on the website and those recorded on the bid-sheets in the gallery may not reflect the highest current bid at any one time. In this regard, the SNO silent auction is similar to a confidential tendering process.

Bids of under $100 for any work will not be considered. Bid increments are at your discretion: you may submit a bid of any amount on or above the minimum.

As you will understand, bidding may move rapidly just before the silent auction closes at 5pm sharp on Sunday 26 July. We cannot record and display all bids on the website at that time, so offers made just before the closing time necessarily will take the form of a 'blind tender' for each work. The highest bid submitted, either online or written on the bid-sheet in the gallery, will at the close of auction be the successful bid.

In the unlikely event of a tie between the highest bid online and the highest bid made in the gallery, we will contact both parties and offer each the opportunity to increase their bid to determine the successful bidder. In this case each bidder will not be informed of the value of the bid that the other bidder makes.

Note that until we compare in-the-room and online bids at the close of the auction, the successful bidder will not be immediately apparent. After comparing all bids we will then advise the successful bidders.

No online bidder names or identities will be revealed and bidders who take part in the silent auction in the gallery can either register at the office to gain a bidder's number, or simply write their name and contact details, along with their bid, on the bid sheet for the relevant work.

This is a charity auction to raise funds for SNO. All artists have kindly donated their unique work to support SNO and its projects. Your generosity is much appreciated!
